Bob Doneley graduated from the University of Queensland in 1982. After working as an associate veterinarian/locum in practices in Queensland and the UK, he opened his own practice in 1988. He sold this practice in 2010 to take up the role of Head of the Small Animal Hospital at the newly relocated UQ School of Veterinary Science at Gatton. He is now an Associate Professor, Head of the Avian and Exotic Pet Service and Interim Director of the Small Animal Hospital. Along the way he obtained his Fellowship of the ANZCVS, becoming Queensland’s first specialist in Avian Medicine. He has published three textbooks on birds and one on reptiles.He has also published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in Australian and international journals.
